Hillsong London

Last night I had the chance to see Hillsong London lead worship at Celebration Church here in Jacksonville. It was an awesome experience. At one point one of the guys in the band played a simple version of the chorus to "Look to the Cross". Sometimes the most powerful moments of praise are the simplest. Here's the lyrics...

"I look to the cross
Lord let me see Your love anew
'cause there I find peace
there I find peace again."

Have a peace-full day!

Friday random blog

Here are my two main guitars. Someone once said, "the electric guitar is of the devil." I used to follow that line of reasoning. Now I am more open to the possibilities an electric may bring and am having fun with it. Don't get me wrong I love my acoustic but it's fun to broaden your horizons sometimes.

I've also added a new link over on the right to guitar praise. If you are a musician you may find this site helpful. Enjoy!
PS...yes I do like blue!

The Chasing Song

We all chase something in our lives. We chase deadlines. We chase toddlers. We chase dreams. We chase each other. Today God reminded me that even in the midst of my chasing everthing HE chased me and caught me and loves me and will not let go.

Here is a song by Andrew Peterson that I think sums up a lot of what I'm trying to say today. Enjoy.

Nicole Nordeman

This past Sunday I used the song "I AM" by Nicole Nordeman to help illustrate God's faithfulness throughout life. Here are the lyrics...hope they encourage you today also.

Pencil marks on a wall, I wasn´t always this tall
You scattered some monsters from beneath my bed
You watched my team win
You watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle went down again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said, Elbow Healer, Superhero
Come if You canYou said, I Am

Only sixteen, life´s so mean
What kind of curfew is at 10pm?
You saw my mistakes
And watched my heart break
Heard when I swore I would never love again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper
Be my best friend
And you said, I Am

You saw me wear white by pale candlelight
I said forever to what lies ahead
Two kids & a dream, with kids that can scream
Too much it might seem when it´s 2am
And when I´m weak, unable to speak
Still I´ll call You by name
Shepherd, Savior, Pasture Maker
Hold onto my hand
You say, I Am

The winds of change & circumstance blow in & all around us
So we find a foothold that is familiar
And bless the moments that we feel You nearer

When life had begun,
I was woven & spun
You let the angels dance around the throne
And who can say when, but they will dance again
When I´m free & finally headed home
I´ll be weak, unable to speak
Still I´ll call You by name
Creator, Maker, Life Sustainer
Comforter, Healer, my Redeemer
Lord & King, Beginning & the End
I Am
Yes, I Am

how do they do it?

I am currently listening to Third Day's new CD "Revelation". Once again they have found a great formula for putting a rock album together that is quality music and praises God at the same time. How can one band put out so much quality music in one lifetime. Some critics feel that all Third Day music sounds the same. Even if that is true you have to admit that it's a great sound. If you haven't heard it yet it is definately worth checking out.
